Ingredients
- 150 g milk powder
- 60 g wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 50 g milk
- 20 g melted butter
- 250 g sugar
- 250 g water
- 3 cardamom pods
- 1 teaspoon rose water
- Oil for frying
Step-by-step

- Make the syrup: put the sugar, water and cardamom in the mixing bowl and cook 10 min/100°C/speed 1. Add the rose water and set aside, keeping it warm.
- Wash the mixing bowl. Put in the milk powder, flour and baking powder and mix 10 sec/speed 4.
- Add the butter and milk and knead 1 min/dough mode until you get a soft dough.
- Shape into small, smooth balls with no cracks.
- Fry in oil over medium-low heat until evenly golden.
- Dip the hot balls into the warm syrup and let rest 30 min so they soak it up.
Tips
- The oil shouldn't be too hot or they'll burn outside and stay raw inside.
- The longer they sit in the syrup, the juicier they get.
