Ingredients
- 500 g strong bread flour
- 150 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100 g water
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 100 g soft lard
- 1 pinch salt
- Powdered sugar to decorate
Step-by-step

- Put the water, yeast and sugar in the mixing bowl and mix 1 min/37°C/speed 2.
- Add the eggs, salt and flour and knead 4 min/dough mode.
- Let the dough rest, covered, until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Roll the dough out very thin on an oiled table, spread with the soft lard and roll up into a rope.
- Shape into a spiral on the baking tray, leaving room to expand, and let rise again for several hours or overnight.
- Bake at 180°C for about 20 minutes until golden and dust with plenty of powdered sugar.
Tips
- Rolling the dough very thin is key to getting the layers.
- A long, slow rise greatly improves the texture.
