Homemade garam masala
Indian blend of spices toasted and ground at home.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons cumin seeds
- 2 tablespoons coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon clove
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Step-by-step
Choose your robot:
- Put all the whole spices in the mixing bowl.
- Toast the spices 4 min/Varoma/speed 1 stirring up the aroma.
- Let cool 5 minutes with the mixing bowl open.
- Blend 1 min/speed 10 until you get a fine powder.
- Pass through a sieve if there are large pieces left.
- Store in an airtight opaque jar.
Tips
- Toasting the spices multiplies their aroma.
- Use the garam masala freshly ground for maximum flavour.
