Ingredients
- 700 g cassava (yuca)
- 400 g ground beef
- 2 onions
- 1 bell pepper
- Salt, cumin and ground chili to taste
- Oil for frying
Step-by-step

- Cook the cassava in salted water until tender and mash it; set aside.
- Put the onions and bell pepper in the mixing bowl; chop 4 sec/speed 5.
- Add oil and sauté 7 min/120°C/speed 1.
- Add the meat and seasonings; cook 10 min/100°C/reverse/spoon speed.
- Mix the cassava purée with the meat filling until combined.
- Shape flat patties by hand.
- Fry in hot oil until golden on both sides.
- Drain on paper and serve hot.
Tips
- Its name means "paya's foot" in Guaraní, for its shape.
- They're great with a splash of lime.
