Cuban-style rice
White rice with fried tomato sauce, fried egg and banana.

Ingredients
- 320 g long-grain rice
- 900 g water
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 400 g crushed tomato
- 1 onion
- 60 g olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 ripe bananas
- Salt to taste
Step-by-step
Choose your robot:
- Put the water, one garlic clove, the bay leaf and salt in the mixing bowl and set 8 min/100C/speed 1.
- Place the rice in the basket, insert it in the mixing bowl and set 13 min/100C/speed 4.
- Carefully remove the basket, drain the rice and set it aside covered.
- Without washing the mixing bowl, put the onion and the other garlic clove and chop 4 sec/speed 5.
- Add the oil and saute 6 min/120C/spoon speed.
- Add the crushed tomato, the sugar and the salt and set 15 min/100C/speed 1 without the measuring cup.
- Meanwhile, fry the eggs and the bananas cut lengthwise in a separate pan.
- Plate each serving with a rice mold, tomato sauce on top, a fried egg and the banana.
- Serve right away very hot.
Tips
- You can mold the rice with a cup for a nice presentation.
- The banana should be very ripe so it caramelizes when fried.
- Accompany with sausages or extra fried banana if it is for children.
