Macaroni with tomato and chorizo

Ingredients

  • 350 g macaroni
  • 1200 g water
  • 150 g chorizo, sliced
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 400 g crushed tomato
  • 40 g olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 100 g grated cheese
  • Salt and oregano to taste

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the water and salt in the mixing bowl and set 10 min/Varoma/speed 1.
  2. Add the macaroni through the lid hole and set 9 min/100C/reverse/spoon speed.
  3. Drain the pasta and set it aside covered.
  4. Without washing the mixing bowl, put the onion and garlic and chop 4 sec/speed 5.
  5. Add the oil and the chorizo and saute 6 min/120C/spoon speed.
  6. Add the crushed tomato, the sugar, the salt and the oregano and set 15 min/100C/speed 1 without the measuring cup.
  7. Mix the macaroni with the sauce and pour into an oven-safe dish.
  8. Cover with the grated cheese and gratin 8 min at 220C until golden.
  9. Serve very hot, freshly gratined.

Tips

  • The sugar corrects the acidity of the tomato.
  • You can replace the chorizo with bacon or tuna.
  • For a milder version use homemade fried tomato sauce.
