Varoma-steamed hake with vegetable pisto

Ingredients

  • 2 hake fillets (300 g)
  • 1 zucchini (150 g) diced
  • 1 red bell pepper (120 g) diced
  • 1 onion (80 g)
  • 200 g crushed tomato
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 700 g water

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the onion in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 5.
  2. Add the oil and saute 5 min/120°C/speed 1.
  3. Add the zucchini, the bell pepper, the crushed tomato and the oregano.
  4. Place the hake fillets, seasoned with salt and pepper, in the Varoma tray.
  5. Set the Varoma in position and program 20 min/Varoma/speed 1 to cook the pisto and steam the fish at the same time.
  6. Check that the fish is set and the pisto tender.
  7. Serve the hake over a bed of pisto.

Tips

  • Nutritional note: very lean white fish and vegetables, a low-fat dish.
  • Using the Varoma cooks fish and sauce in a single step.
  • Leftover pisto works as a side for other dishes.
