Varoma-steamed hake with vegetable pisto
White fish steamed over a light pisto, a very lean dish.

Ingredients
- 2 hake fillets (300 g)
- 1 zucchini (150 g) diced
- 1 red bell pepper (120 g) diced
- 1 onion (80 g)
- 200 g crushed tomato
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 700 g water
Step-by-step
Choose your robot:
- Put the onion in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 5.
- Add the oil and saute 5 min/120°C/speed 1.
- Add the zucchini, the bell pepper, the crushed tomato and the oregano.
- Place the hake fillets, seasoned with salt and pepper, in the Varoma tray.
- Set the Varoma in position and program 20 min/Varoma/speed 1 to cook the pisto and steam the fish at the same time.
- Check that the fish is set and the pisto tender.
- Serve the hake over a bed of pisto.
Tips
- Nutritional note: very lean white fish and vegetables, a low-fat dish.
- Using the Varoma cooks fish and sauce in a single step.
- Leftover pisto works as a side for other dishes.
