Varoma-steamed turkey meatballs in tomato sauce
Lean turkey meatballs steamed in a light tomato sauce.

Ingredients
- 400 g ground turkey meat
- 1 egg
- 30 g gluten-free rolled oats
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 handful of fresh parsley
- 400 g crushed tomato
- 1 onion (80 g)
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 700 g water
Step-by-step
Choose your robot:
- Put the garlic and the parsley in the mixing bowl and chop 3 sec/speed 5.
- Add the turkey, the egg, the oats, the salt and the pepper and mix 20 sec/speed 3.
- Form meatballs with damp hands and place them in the Varoma tray.
- Wash the mixing bowl and put the onion; chop 4 sec/speed 5.
- Add the oil and saute 5 min/120°C/speed 1; add the crushed tomato and the water.
- Set the Varoma with the meatballs and program 25 min/Varoma/speed 1.
- Remove the meatballs and mix them with the tomato sauce before serving.
Tips
- Nutritional note: turkey is a lean meat very rich in protein.
- Steaming avoids the fat of frying the meatballs.
- The oats bind the mixture without the need for breadcrumbs with gluten.
