Ingredients

  • 200 g of butter at room temperature
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g of flour
  • 120 ml of milk
  • 1 sachet of baking powder (16 g)
  • 30 g of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Preheat the oven to 175C.
  2. Put the butterfly on, add the butter and the sugar and beat 3 min/speed 3.5.
  3. Add the eggs and the vanilla and mix 1 min/speed 4.
  4. Remove the butterfly, add the flour, the baking powder, the milk and the salt and mix 25 sec/speed 3.
  5. Separate a third of the batter into a bowl and mix the cocoa into it.
  6. Pour alternating layers of light and dark batter into a loaf mold.
  7. Run a toothpick in a zigzag to create the marbled effect.
  8. Bake 40 min at 175C and check with a toothpick.
  9. Let it cool and unmold onto a rack.

Tips

  • Do not mix the marbling too much so the batters stay distinct.
  • Spread thin layers for a more marked marbling.
  • Dust with cocoa or icing sugar when serving.
