Ingredients

  • 300 g cooked and drained lentils
  • 1 carrot (80 g) in pieces
  • 1/2 onion (50 g)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 60 g rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A handful of fresh parsley

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the onion, the garlic, the carrot and the parsley in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 5.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and saute 5 min/120°C/speed 1.
  3. Add the lentils, the cumin, the paprika, the salt and the pepper.
  4. Blend 10 sec/speed 4 until you get a dough with some texture.
  5. Add the rolled oats and mix 15 sec/speed 3 so it binds.
  6. Let the mixture rest 10 minutes and form 4 burgers with damp hands.
  7. Cook in a pan with the rest of the oil 4 minutes on each side until golden.
  8. Serve with greens and tomato or in whole-grain bread.

Tips

  • If the mixture is too soft, add a little more oats and let it rest.
  • For a gluten-free version use certified gluten-free oats.
  • Nutritional note: lentils provide plant protein and filling fiber.
