Ingredients

  • 350 g penne
  • 1200 g water
  • 400 g crushed tomato
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 dried chilies
  • 60 g extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Fresh chopped parsley
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the water and salt in the mixing bowl and set 10 min/Varoma/speed 1.
  2. Add the penne through the lid hole and set 11 min/100C/reverse/spoon speed.
  3. Drain the pasta and set it aside covered.
  4. Without washing the mixing bowl, put the sliced garlic, the chilies and the oil and saute 4 min/Varoma/spoon speed.
  5. Add the crushed tomato, the sugar and salt and set 15 min/100C/speed 1 without the measuring cup.
  6. Lightly blend the sauce 10 sec/speed 4 if you prefer it smoother.
  7. Add the drained pasta and mix 1 min/reverse/spoon speed.
  8. Adjust the salt and the spiciness to taste.
  9. Serve with chopped parsley on top.

Tips

  • Arrabbiata means angry because of its spicy character.
  • Adjust the chilies according to your spice tolerance.
  • This recipe is naturally vegan without adding cheese.
