Gravy sauce

British style thickened meat sauce for roasts.

Ingredients

  • 400 g of meat stock
  • 1 onion
  • 30 g of butter
  • 30 g of wheat flour
  • 40 g of red wine
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the onion in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 5.
  2. Add the butter and saute 6 min/120°C/speed 1.
  3. Add the flour and saute 2 min/100°C/speed 2.
  4. Pour in the wine, stock, Worcestershire, salt and pepper.
  5. Set 6 min/100°C/speed 3 until the sauce thickens.
  6. Blend 20 sec/speed 6 for a smooth texture and serve hot.

  • Use the roast juices for a tastier gravy.
  • Use corn flour for a gluten-free version.
  • Pairs with roast chicken, mashed potato or turkey.
