Ingredients

  • 1 litre of whole milk
  • 350 g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the milk, the sugar and the bicarbonate in the mixing bowl and mix 10 sec/speed 3.
  2. Program 50 min/100°C/reverse/speed 1 without the measuring cup and with the basket on top.
  3. Check the colour and leave it longer if you want it darker.
  4. Add the vanilla and mix 20 sec/speed 3.
  5. Blend 30 sec/speed 5 for a completely smooth texture.
  6. Pour into a jar and let it cool.
  7. Refrigerate and it will thicken even more as it cools.

Tips

  • The bicarbonate helps to achieve the caramel colour.
  • Place the basket to avoid splashes.
