Classic Guacamole

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 chopped ripe tomato
  • 1/4 white onion
  • 1 serrano chile
  • 1 small bunch of cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Tortilla chips to accompany

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the onion, the chile and the cilantro in the mixing bowl. Chop 3 sec/speed 4 and set aside in a bowl.
  2. Open the avocados, remove the pit and take out the pulp.
  3. Add the avocado pulp, the lime juice and the salt to the chopped mixture in the bowl.
  4. Mash with a fork or the butterfly attachment 10 sec/speed 2 to leave chunks.
  5. Add the chopped tomato and mix gently by hand.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Tips

  • Lime juice prevents the avocado from oxidizing.
  • Do not over-blend; guacamole is enjoyed with texture.
