Hallullas (Chilean Flatbread)
Round, flat bread typical of Chilean afternoon tea.

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 200 ml warm water
- 10 g dry yeast
- 80 g shortening or oil
- 10 g salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Step-by-step
Using a different robot? Switch it here:
- Put the warm water, yeast and sugar in the mixing bowl and mix 1 min/37°C/speed 2.
- Add the flour, shortening and salt.
- Knead 4 min/closed lid/dough mode until a firm, smooth dough forms.
- Let rest covered 30 min.
- Roll out the dough to 1 cm and cut circles; prick them with a fork.
- Let rise 20 min on a floured baking sheet.
- Bake 18 min/210°C until golden.
Tips
- Hallulla dough is firmer than pan amasado dough.
- Fill with cheese or mortadella for teatime.
