Ingredients

  • 600 g of chicken breast in cubes
  • 200 g of orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 30 g of soy sauce
  • 30 g of sugar
  • 20 g of rice vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 10 g of fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • Cornstarch and oil for coating and frying
  • Spring onion and sesame to garnish

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Coat the chicken cubes in cornstarch and fry them in hot oil until golden, then set them aside.
  2. Put the garlic and the ginger in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 7.
  3. Add the orange juice, the zest, the soy, the sugar and the vinegar and mix 5 sec/speed 3.
  4. Set 6 min/100°C/speed 2 without the measuring cup so it reduces.
  5. Dissolve the cornstarch in a tablespoon of water and add it to the mixing bowl.
  6. Set 3 min/100°C/speed 2 until the sauce thickens and shines.
  7. Add the fried chicken and mix 30 sec/reverse/spoon speed to coat.
  8. Serve right away over rice and garnish with spring onion and sesame.

Tips

  • Add the chicken at the end so it keeps its crispy texture.
  • Balance sweetness and acidity by tasting the sauce before thickening it.
