Ingredients

  • 800 g hen or chicken pieces
  • 400 g peeled cassava, in chunks
  • 1 green plantain, in pieces
  • 2 ears of corn (choclo), in pieces
  • 300 g potato, in pieces
  • 1 spring onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 ripe tomatoes
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1800 g water
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Place the spring onion, garlic and tomatoes in the mixing bowl and chop 5 sec/speed 5.
  2. Saute 5 min/Varoma/spoon speed.
  3. Add the hen, water, cumin, salt and pepper and set 25 min/100C/reverse/spoon speed.
  4. Add the green plantain and the corn and cook 15 min/100C/reverse/spoon speed.
  5. Add the cassava and the potato and set 20 min/100C/reverse/spoon speed until everything is tender.
  6. Add the chopped cilantro, adjust the salt and mix 30 sec/reverse/spoon speed.
  7. Serve with white rice and avocado.

Tips

  • Add the cassava at the end so it does not fall apart completely.
  • A splash of lime juice when serving enhances the flavor.
  • Ripe plantain is also delicious instead of green.
