Ingredients

  • 500 g strong bread flour
  • 250 g warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g soft butter
  • 30 g sugar
  • 20 g fresh yeast
  • 9 g salt
  • Sesame for decorating
  • 1 egg for brushing

Step-by-step

Choose your robot:
  1. Put the milk, yeast and sugar in the mixing bowl and set 2 min/37°C/speed 2.
  2. Add the egg, flour, butter and salt and mix 20 sec/speed 6.
  3. Knead 4 min/closed bowl/dough mode.
  4. Let the dough rise in a covered bowl until doubled in volume, about 60 min.
  5. Divide the dough into eight equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  6. Place the balls on a tray with baking paper and flatten them slightly.
  7. Let them rise covered another 40 min.
  8. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame on top.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 18 min until golden.
  10. Let cool on a rack before opening.

Tips

  • Flatten the balls well so the buns turn out flat.
  • A little milk in the brushing gives extra shine.
