Cuban Picadillo
Ground beef stewed with raisins, olives and potatoes in the Cuban style.

Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 1 green bell pepper
- 4 garlic cloves
- 300 g crushed tomato
- 1 large potato, diced
- 40 g raisins
- 60 g green olives
- 50 g olive oil
- 60 g dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Step-by-step
Choose your robot:
- Put the onion, the pepper and the garlic in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 5. Scrape down with the spatula.
- Add the oil and saute 7 min/120°C/spoon speed.
- Add the ground beef and saute 5 min/100°C/reverse/spoon speed to sear it.
- Add the crushed tomato, the cumin and the oregano and cook 5 min/100°C/reverse/spoon speed.
- Add the wine, the raisins, the olives and the diced potato. Set 18 min/100°C/reverse/spoon speed.
- Check that the potato is tender; if needed cook 3 min more/100°C/reverse/spoon speed.
- Adjust salt and pepper and serve with white rice and sweet plantains.
Tips
- The sweet contrast of the raisins with the olives is the key to the dish.
- You can use it as a filling for empanadas or stuffed potatoes.
- Serve with white rice and black beans.
