Chilean-Style Lentils
Thick lentil stew with sautéed vegetables and Chilean sausage.

Ingredients
- 350 g lentils
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 longaniza sausage, sliced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1.3 liters broth or hot water
- Salt and pepper
Step-by-step

- Put the garlic and onion in the mixing bowl, chop 4 sec/speed 5 and sauté with the oil 7 min/120°C/spoon speed.
- Add the longaniza, paprika and cumin and sauté 4 min/Varoma/reverse/spoon speed.
- Add the lentils, carrot, bay leaves and broth and set 25 min/100°C/reverse/spoon speed.
- Add the potatoes, salt and pepper and set 15 min/100°C/reverse/spoon speed until everything is tender.
- Mash a few potatoes with the spatula to thicken the stew and serve hot.
Tips
- Don't add salt at the start so the lentils don't turn out tough.
- Vegan: skip the longaniza and add smoked paprika plus a splash of olive oil.
